Current Programs: PROMOTING GREENWORKS AND ITS MEMBERS GreenWorks will concentrate on building the brand and making the general public aware that GreenWorks members share a commitment to living sustainably and operating their businesses in an earth-friendly and community-friendly way. THE IDAHO GREEN EXPO GreenWorks will continue to host the annual Idaho Green Expo, bringing green businesses and people together, with the goal of providing further education to the public while at the same time promoting green businesses that serve Idaho. The 2009 Expo will be held on July 18th and 19th at the Boise Centre on the Grove. EDUCATION, NETWORKING & OTHER EVENTS A bi-monthly e-newsletter will be sent out to all GreenWorks members informing people of upcoming events, tips on green living and business practices, legislative news and features on local green business innovations. Regular meetings will be held for GreenWorks' Business Members for the purposes of allowing our business members to network and learn from each other, and provide each other with additional support. GreenWorks will soon begin a community outreach program to support educators. ADVOCACY GreenWorks is partnering with other organizations and our local and state officials to encourage policies favorable to the development of healthy and sustainable businesses and communities. Upcoming Programs: VOLUNTARY LOCAL GREENHOUSE GAS EXCHANGE Businesses and individuals can help GreenWorks create more sustainable economies through voluntarily participation in the GreenWorks Greenhouse Gas Exchange program, whereby a person or business will offset some or all of their emissions. These offsets are then invested in sustainable efforts within the local community where they live or work. GREEN BUSINESS INCUBATION GreenWorks will secure a location in Boise to offer space and shared services to incubate emerging green businesses. Having a central location for these businesses to begin their operations will provide them with a launching pad to provide eco-friendly products and services to our community.
